How to Use:

It is not necessary to pre-soak Pearled Barley; however it does require a good quantity of liquid when cooking. If including barley in soups or hotpots add it at the beginning of the cooking process with 3-4 cups of water or stock and allow approximately 45 minutes cooking time. To cook pearled barley as a side dish, simmer 1 cup of barley and 3 cups of water or stock, covered on a low heat for about 45 minutes. When barley is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed; fluff grains with a fork, and serve with curries and stir fries. Pre-cooked Barley can also be used in salads and as a savoury filling for stuffed capsicums.

Storage:

Store in an air tight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Refrigeration recommended in warm climates.

Shelf Life:

Up to 12 months when stored as above. See Best Before date.
