Gingerbread Porridge

Enjoy a deliciously warming bowl of gingerbread spiced porridge on cold winter mornings!


1 cup organic rolled oats
1/2 cup water
2 cup almond mylk
1 tsp gingerbread spice*
1 Tbsp cashew or almond butter (Freshly made in store, check with your nearest store)
1/4 tsp organic vanilla bean powder
2 Tbsp organic maple syrup (to taste)
1 Tbsp blackstrap molasses
pinch of flaky sea salt

Raw walnuts
drizzle of organic maple syrup


Gingerbread spice:

1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
pinch of ground cloves and nutmeg


  1. Add oats and milk to a saucepan and place over medium heat, bringing to a low simmer and cooking until almost all of the liquid is absorbed, occasionally stirring (about 3-5 minutes). The mixture should start to thicken up.
  2. Turn heat to low and add milk, spices, cashew/almond butter, vanilla, salt, maple and molasses. Stir to combine until smooth and continue to cook and stir until all the liquid is absorbed and your desired consistency is reached (roughly another 3-5 minutes). If you prefer your oats runnier, feel free to add more mylk, if you prefer them thicker, cook for a bit longer.
  3. Transfer to a bowl and add toppings. Serve with a warming cup of tea.
