Bircher, or Swiss, Muesli is a traditional blend of rolled oats and triticale combined with delicious sunflower seeds, naturally sweet dried fruits and fresh nuts. This light, untoasted muesli is non GMO and has no added sugar. The original Bircher recipe is to pre-soak this muesli with grated apples and serve with yoghurt; or it can be enjoyed cold or warm with your choice of milk. Bircher muesli can also be added to smoothies, raw food recipes and baked goodies.

How to Use

To serve traditional Bircher soak this muesli with grated apple overnight and serve with yoghurt. A variation is to mix 4 cups of muesli with an equal amount of yoghurt and a grated apple. This mix will last up to a week refrigerated in an airtight container, and is scrumptious served with fresh fruit or berries. Bircher Muesli can of course be enjoyed instantly with your favourite dairy or nut milk. Serve with warm milk or stewed fruits in the winter time. Add this delicious muesli to raw food recipes including smoothies, slices and energy balls. To create wonderful muesli bars simply combine melted butter and coconut nectar or honey with muesli, press into a shallow tray and bake in a medium oven for 25 minutes or until golden. Endless goodies can be added to muesli bars - try cranberries and cacao, or maple and cinnamon. Bircher muesli is also a great addition to muffin and cookie recipes.
