How to Use
It is not necessary to pre-soak Pearled Barley; however it does require a good quantity of liquid when cooking. If including barley in soups or hotpots add it at the beginning of the cooking process with 3-4 cups of water or stock and allow approximately 45 minutes cooking time. To cook pearled barley as a side dish, simmer 1 cup of barley and 3 cups of water or stock, covered on a low heat for about 45 minutes. When barley is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed; fluff grains with a fork, and serve with curries and stir fries. Pre-cooked Barley can also be used in salads and as a savoury filling for stuffed capsicums. Copyright Statement… Pearled Barley doesn’t need pre-soaking, just rinse well.
