How to Use
Enjoy Australian Currants as a quick snack, in lunch boxes, or with cheese and nuts. Currants add a burst of sweet flavour to muesli and porridge, acai bowls, or natural yoghurt. Combine them with other dried fruits, seeds and nuts in moreish trail mixes. In savoury recipes, versatile dried currants can be used in pickles, chutney and stuffing; and go well with rice, cous cous or quinoa, curries and hotpots. Used in many sweet and savoury raw food recipes, currants are great with nut butter or tahini in wraps, tossed through salads, or in slices and muesli bars. Or add yummy, natural sweetness to home-baked bread, fruit buns, muffins, biscuits, cakes and puddings. Currants can be pre-soak in a little warm water or juice to soften, or to prevent them from absorbing moisture from your dough or cake mix - if they are an addition to a baking recipe.
