What are the benefits of White Tea?

  1. Naturally low in caffeine
  2. Rich in antioxidants
  3. Good for dental health
  • 1. Naturally low in caffeine

The caffeine content in white tea is far less when compared to black or green teas, making it an ideal tea to enjoy in the evenings or before bed.

  • 2. Rich in antioxidants

White tea is packed full of polyphenols (a type of antioxidant), which are naturally occurring micronutrients in the tea leaves. When consumed, these micronutrients provide us with a boost of immunity.

  • 3. Good for dental health

Drinking white tea instead of black tea may be more beneficial for your teeth due to the lower tannin levels found in white tea. The tannin in tea is what tends to cause dental staining.

White Tea facts

Native to China, white tea is over 5,000 years old. Both the white & green teas come from the plant 'Camellia Sinensis'. White tea leaves are harvested at a younger age compared to the green tea leaves and aren’t as processed. Because of this, they retain more antioxidants. The reason we call this 'white' tea, is due to the silver & white colour of the fine buds on the plant. These buds impart a lovely sweet and light flavour!
